Foremark reservoir is located in the heart of the National Forest between Derby and Burton On Trent.

Built in the 1970s, Foremark Reservoir draws water from the River Dove at Eggington, supplying Melbourne water treatment works. The reservoir holds 2,900 million gallons (13,200 mega litres) of water having a surface area of 230 acres (93 hectares).

Foremark reservoir is a wildlife habitat offering many outdoor and leisure activities, such as adventure playgrounds, fishing, bird watching, sailing and cycling, as well as countryside walks for those who want to explore and discover the magic of the growing National Forest.

Foremark reservoir has disabled access for those with mobility problems. Car parking spaces and accessible toilets are clearly marked.

Surrounded by woodlands, the site has many well marked trails for walkers and picnic areas together with a small information centre and play area. A refreshments kiosk is open during the Summer.

Admission is free and a car parking charge applies
