Anchor Church on the River Trent Anchor church is a cave consisting of several rooms, situated in a quiet backwater of the river Trent, near the tranquil village of Ingleby in Southern Derbyshire. It has been known as Anchor Church for hundreds of years. It is believed to have been the haunt of a monk called Bernard who ended his days here, doing penitence for his involvement in some hideous crime. It is now the haunt of anglers. |
